I'm running MacOS 10.11.6, and I have tried running Protogo from a separate user account that I keep for testing, as well as my usual account. I can see the drive mounted, and there are system files on it. It starts well, everything looks like it is working, and then it just hangs on "Installing System Software." I've waited over an hour, and nothing. I select the device, and click on "Build TechTool Protogo Device." I select one of the available configurations for my 4GB thumb drive, and it says it will take 2.91GB. I open the app, select Tools from the Mode menu, and click on TechTool Protogo. I bought, downloaded and installed TechTool Pro 9 this morning. It's so disappointing, given that TTP has been a very useful app all these years. It seems unwise to pay an additional $40.00 for TTP 9 if I can't be certain that it will resolve the problem. It did not resolve the problem.I haven't changed settings on my computer, in terms of what else might be causing this problem. My disk has always been encrypted, but I tried this suggestion. Open a Finder window within the Dock and choose the folder for Applications. I could only run the suite of tests "Run Check Computer" but could not run any TOOLS. Click Force Quit two times to confirm the process. Then suddenly my Volume was missing from both Tests and Tools. I was running TTP 8.0.4 just fine, until some time in June. I'm on an iMac, and both the iMac and TechTool had been fully up-to-date. I've been using TechTool since 2008, and it's done superbly until several weeks ago.
